During the period of the residency at Iceland, Skaftfell, Jin focuses on the relationship between people and landscapes. She try to capture a kind of subtle awkwardness and sense of distance among them. She narrowed the landscape into a "tableau" without context, lacking the spatiotemporal axis. People (or artifacts) appeared inside this "tableau", but lacked narrative connection. In-front of the absolute-existence nature, the position of human beings as the outlier is emphasized: the uneasiness emerges behind the seemingly orderly, just like landing on unknown land. This appearance is an instant, an instant that can be completely ignored by nature. Whereby, this work highlight the powerlessness and insignificance of human, as well as the contradiction between instant and eternity.
